FR : Jean-Louis Almosnino débute la guitare à l’âge de 10 ans et explore très tôt le jazz, la musique classique et les grands styles de la guitare du XXᵉ siècle. Il se forme au CIM à Paris auprès de Pierre Cullaz, où il approfondit le langage du jazz tout en se produisant régulièrement en concerts et festivals.
Sa carrière l’amène à jouer au sein de formations variées, du duo au big band, en France et à l’international, aux côtés de nombreux musiciens français et étrangers. Il poursuit son apprentissage auprès de figures majeures du jazz telles que Dave Liebman, Richie Beirach, John Abercrombie, John Scofield, Kenny Werner ou Bill Dobbins.
Il participe à plusieurs enregistrements à Paris et à New York, et effectue entre 2003 et 2006 une tournée européenne avec Guy Marchand et le Big Band de Fred Manoukian.
Parallèlement, Jean-Louis Almosnino a enseigné plus de vingt ans dans plusieurs Conservatoires Nationaux et dirigé des départements jazz. Il poursuit aujourd’hui une carrière artistique active, nourrie par une profonde expérience pédagogique et scénique.
Hormis le Jean-Louis Almosnino Trio, Jean-Louis Almosnino participe activement à de nombreux projets musicaux tels que son Quartet, son Quintet, The B.A.D Trio (avec Zaza Désirerio, Claude Bakubama ou Marcel Bottaro), BROADWAY STATION, Jane Cockell Trio ou encore ses duos avec Marie Almosnino ou Michel Fernandez.
EN: Jean-Louis Almosnino began playing guitar at the age of 10 and was early drawn to jazz, classical music, and the major guitar styles of the 20th century. He later studied at the CIM in Paris with Pierre Cullaz, where he developed an in-depth knowledge of jazz while performing regularly in concerts and festivals.
His career has led him to perform in a wide range of settings, from duo to big band, in France and abroad, alongside many French and international musicians. He furthered his musical training with leading figures of the jazz scene such as Dave Liebman, Richie Beirach, John Abercrombie, John Scofield, Kenny Werner, and Bill Dobbins.
He has taken part in several recordings in Paris and New York, and between 2003 and 2006 toured across Europe with singer Guy Marchand and Fred Manoukian’s Big Band.
Alongside his performing career, Jean-Louis Almosnino taught for more than twenty years at several National Conservatories and directed jazz departments. He continues today an active artistic career, shaped by a deep pedagogical background and extensive stage experience.
